It is just amazing at the different styles of drumheads that are available. When drumming first started, it was just calf drum heads! Now, there are 100's of styles and options from a variety of well known companies.

If your looking for a particular sound or era of drum sound then you should dig into the history of the head options of that time. It was not until the mid 1950's that mylar heads were first introduced.
